Due to the notable increase in unemployment in Switzerland since March 2020, the Federal Department of the Economy, Training and Research (DEFR) has decided to increase the number of occupations subject to the notification obligation in ORPs.
The occupations concerned are those having reached or exceeded the threshold value of 5% unemployment rate. Newly affected professions include event planners, sales and marketing managers.
The reporting obligation was voted by Parliament in the law implementing the SVP’s initiative against mass immigration, which entered into force on July 1, 2018. Since that date, employers wishing to recruit employees in professions affected by an excessive unemployment rate at a threshold fixed by the DEFR must reserve their offer for five days at the regional employment offices (ORP).
It is in this logic that the IMSG has chosen to develop its continuing education offer in SME management and sales (Brevets fédéraux) but also in Marketing, Finance and Business Diplomacy (Parcours Augmentés), in order to meet the needs skills acquisition of Swiss professionals.
